You are hereby ordered to divert to southern Germany and travel to Ehrenstein Castle. The castle is the former hereditary seat of the Ehrenstein family until the last of the line, Karla Graf Von Altberg-Ehrenstein, died under mysterious circumstances while commanding the submarine, U-29, during the last days of the first "Great War." The Department of Paranormal Affairs (DPA) reports persistent and credible rumors that she took her ship and crew in search of dark "Cthullian" secrets tied to her ancestral home.

This occurred twenty-five years ago, and the castle had been sealed and abandoned until six months ago, when SS Colonel and high Valkyrie party member Ilsa Hochstetter arrived with a full detachment of Black Feather Guards and Valkyrie Science Technicians, as reported by the local resistance. Further intelligence reported large numbers of peasant girls going missing, and unspeakable laughter coming from the castle walls. These reports suggest that this is a secret project headed by Doctor Eva Meier, tickleologist and chief of Valkyrie science. Given Doctor Meier's prior dealings with the "dark arts," we must conclude that she is attempting to continue Karla Graf Von Altberg-Ehrenstein's work.

The local resistance was authorized to infiltrate and sabotage the castle. However, all contact was lost with them after undertaking their mission. We must conclude that their mission was a failure and that they were either captured or killed. Given the mountainous terrain, a bombing mission is not viable.

SSgt Steele, you and your team are to infiltrate Ehrenstein Castle, collect any intelligence on Project Kitzelborn, and end that project by any means necessary. This mission has the highest priority.
